Mold Training

IAQA Courses are divided into "tracks" ...

.Microbial Remediation Track (for CMR, CMRS, CMRA)
.Microbial Assessment Track (for CMI, CMC, CMIA)

These courses prepare candidates for American IAQ Council certification examinations. All students attending these courses are eligible for Apprentice level American IAQ Council certification.
CMR/CMRS/CMRA
Council-certified Microbial Remediator (CMR)
Council-certified Microbial Supervisor (CMRS)
Council-certified Microbial Remediator Apprentice (CMRA)
This 3-day class prepares students for AmIAQ certification. However, certification is not required to take this course. All attendees receive a "Certificate of Completion" from IAQA.
Certified Microbial Remediator (2 Yrs Field Exp.)
Certified Microbial Supervisor (5 Yrs Field Exp.)
Council-certified Microbial Remediator Apprentice (No Exp.)

The AMIAQ-Council certified Microbial Remediator course is for property managers, owners, general contractors, insurance adjusters, public health, remediators and associated trades whose work demands a basic understanding of the issues related to microbial remediation projects in indoor environments.

The Council-certified Microbial Remediation Supervisor designation is for individuals who supervise microbial remediation projects to meet the specifications set forth in proposals and submittals including: setting up the containment; overseeing labor, developing and implementing site specific operations and emergency procedures; managing equipment and materials on site; managing equipment and materials on-site; managing cleaning, and proper removal and disposal of affected materials; remediating the site according to specifications; and preparing documentation during remediation.

This certification documents core skills and knowledge that can be relied upon by those seeking highly qualified employees, supervisors or advisors for the direction, management and execution of microbial remediation projects. The certification application process includes the review, verification and approval of examination results, credentials, education and experience by an independent certification board.

Council-certified Microbial Consultant
Council-certified Microbial Investigator
Council-certified Microbial Investigator Apprentice
This 3-day class prepares students for AmIAQ certification. However, certification is not required to take this course. All attendees receive a "Certificate of Completion" from IAQA.
Certified Microbial Consultant (8 Yrs Field Exp.)
Certified Microbial Investigator (2 Yrs Field Exp.)
Certified Microbial Investigator Apprentice (No Exp.)

The Microbial Consultant/Investigator is a specialist who concentrates on diagnosis and treatment in a single area of expertise: microbial contamination. Though mold is only one of many potential causes of IAQ problems, it presents unique challenges to building owners and facilities managers, and is therefore a crucial area of concern.

The Microbial Consultant/Investigator relies on detailed scientific knowledge of microbial agents to identify and account for microbial contamination and to recommend appropriate remediation strategies. The Consultant's field experience in the design and execution of sampling regimens and his or her ability to interpret results responsibly allow him or her to conduct meaningful microbial investigations and to verify the results of remediation projects.

Certification:
There are currently no Federal or California certifications for mold related activities or services.

Course attendees who meet experience and education pre-qualifications may take the American Indoor Air Quality Council (AmIAQC) certicication exams.

Each AmIAQC certification is board-awarded, which means the IAQ Council certification board reviews each applicant's file, including their application, examination score, documented field experience and attention to application details before awarding certification. All experience may be verified before the applicant's file is sent to the certification board. This type of certification process is worthy of the time it takes... up to 6 weeks following the examination.

You must pre-pay and pre-apply for the exams directly with AmIAQC 14 days in advance of the test date. For experience and education pre-qualifications please contact the AmIAQC at 1-800-942-0832 or online at: American Indoor Air Quality Council.
